# How do I edit a segment?

This article explains how to edit the name and description of an existing segment. Follow these steps to update your segment details cleanly. This keeps your saved customer lists organized.

## Before you start

Before editing a segment, make sure you have:
- **Owner or Admin role in your Flownally workspace**.
- At least one existing segment in Flownally.

## How to edit a segment

1. Log in to your Flownally workspace.
2. Go to the **Contacts** tab.

3. Click **More** or the **three dots** to the right of your segments, above the contact list.
4. Choose **Manage segments**.

5. You will see the segments list.

6. Hover over the segment.

7. Click the **three dots** on the right side of the segment and choose **Edit segment**.

8. Provide a new name and/or a new description for the segment.
9. Click the **Save changes** button to save it.

## What happens after editing a segment?

After editing a segment, the updated segment name and description save instantly. Your team can view the updated details in the segment list right away.

## Troubleshooting

### Changes do not save

This happens due to a brief network connection drop. You must check your internet connection and submit the changes again.

### Three dots icon is missing

This is caused by a temporary browser screen rendering delay. You need to reload your browser page to show the action icons.
