# How do I create a journey?

This article explains how to **build automated communication workflows** in the Flownally Journeys tab. Follow these steps to initiate your first automation project and streamline your customer engagement scale.

### In this article, you will learn how to

- **Initiate a new automation project**.
- Understand the prerequisite settings needed to map out an automated flow.
- Diagnose and resolve initial journeys or permission errors.

## Before you start

Before creating a journey, make sure you have:
- At least one **active messaging channel** connected to your workspace to deploy the flow.

> **Important:** Creating a journey initiates a blank draft project. The automation will not interact with live customers until you activate the journey.

## How to create a journey

1. Log in to your Flownally workspace.
2. Go to the **Journeys** tab.
3. Click on the **Create journey**.

## What happens after creating a journey?

After a journey is created, your custom automation goes live and works whenever specific events occur for each of your customers. The system will independently track these customer events in the background, instantly delivering targeted messages and guiding individual user experiences without requiring any manual effort from your team.

## Troubleshooting

### Create journey button does not respond

The button does not react when clicked on the dashboard. This is caused by a temporary browser loading delay. You must refresh your browser window and click the button again to fix it.

### Journey list fails to load

The dashboard shows a blank list instead of your journeys. This happens because of a temporary network connection drop. You need to check your internet connection and reload the page.
